Sam’s CV
Sam Burkett (they/them) is an award-winning maker and performer working at the intersection of dance and comedy based in London. Rooted in their background as a contemporary dancer and comedy improviser, Sam’ work playfully blurs the edges of these art forms, blending physicality and humour to examine identity, relationships, and emotional contradictions. Beyond making work, Sam shares their practice through workshops and movement direction, helping comedians enhance their stage presence and connect movement and story-telling. Sam’s work has been supported by Arts Council England, Scottish Ballet, Dance Base, Yorkshire Dance, Dance Studio Leeds, Leeds City Council, and Chisenhale Dance Space.
