What People Are Saying

It's so easy to forget what my body is doing when I'm performing stand up, there's a lot to think about. Sam has completely elevated my physical performance.

— James Barr (Comedian, Radio Presenter, and Host of 'A Gay and A Non-Gay')

The feedback on our sets felt really fresh and good. The whole workshop was great but particularly enjoyed Sam dissecting my routine and tips on improving my routine through physicality!

— Workshop Participant

Sam is an absolute wonder, and my body is already thanking them for saving me from certain injury in a show where I essentially contort into a million made up dance moves every night!

— Tara Boland (Comedian, Director, and Writer)

What is Movement for Comedy?

My approach to movement direction is about meeting the needs of comedians working today whether you are just starting to write new material or you are ready to take on the Fringe.

When you work with me, I will give you bespoke tasks and feedback to find new ways for you to approach your comedy physically whether you are an improviser, a stand up, or character comedian. Using techniques from physical theatre, dance, improvisation, and somatic practices, we will figure out how you move and what your show needs.

Let’s work together!
